EXHIBITIONS: THE TAXONOMY OF DESIRE

When I look at these images, I think a lot about this particular location.
I wonder how many people, men, women and couples have visited this place to take a breath from their stressful living to role play their secret lives.
Whether it be for a secret rendezvous or intimate photo shoot you feel so peaceful and safe in this underground cave.

Whatever your fantasy is, there are no judgemental eyes. No whispers in the back of your mind with guilt.

I can dream how I want to be.

Emmanuel Angelicas is one of the Australian photographers whom I have been fortunate to work with in the area of Erotic Artistic Nude. This is one of the most difficult genres of modeling I have done, but also the one I find the most enjoyable and rewarding.

Emmanuel and I had been discussing for a few years our mutual interest in Japan and it's art, but also working on a hardcore series paying attention to expression and emotion.

It's easy to take photos and video of yourself behind closed doors in privacy. When you know it's going to be viewed by thousands of people, the next step is to censor your emotion so that people only see what you want them to see, perhaps like a performance.

I want to show the world that erotic art doesn't fit neatly into a box - it's confronting yet intimate.

The Taxonomy of Desire features four photographers, Emmanuel Angelicas is one of them. My three photos are featured among this exhibition as well as included in his Marrickville 2010- collection on his website www.emmanuelangelicas.com
